What are we doing in class?
We have just finished our maths topic of “time” and are now moving onto 2D and 3D shape. We are still practising our ” Time” topic though as we found it a bit tricky to work out the times ” to the hour”. We learned new words on Friday – parallel and perpendicular!
We are still learning about “Space” and are enjoying the topic. We’re running out of time to finish it all before Christmas but last year’s P5 had to finish after the holidays too!
Our parents recently got our learning logs home to look at and they’ll see all the hard work we do in class!
What a busy week!
It’s a busy week for us with our production of “Oliver” on Monday and Tuesday, the infant nativity on Wednesday and Thursday, the trip to the cinema on Friday and the school disco at night!!
New golden time games
Last week the class all got new golden time games there so cool. I think that evryone will take care of them . We have board games like buckaroo but we did not get that game and we got art stuff like drawing pens. This Friday thats today were going to take them out.
Postcards from Space
Yesterday we were writing “postcards from space” . Before we began we had a look at some postcards and then we visited the website of the International Space Station. On this website we could send a virtual postcard to the astronauts living up there. We told them about our topic and about our blog. Maybe they will have a look at our blog spot!!
Some of our postcards are hanging up outside our classroom. We’ll take a picture of them to let you see!!
Art Fruit
Today we drew pictures of lemons, limes and oranges. All of the fruit we cut in half had 10 segments! We wondered if all the citrus fruits had 10 segments in them. We did pencil drawings then we made some chalk/ wax resist pictures of our fruit. We have put some of our pictures on our classroom door. They’re pretty good:)

School Photo
This morning we had our whole school photo taken. We all lined up in the middle of the playground. The photographer had to stand on the roof to see us all. We had it taken just in time because it started to rain. We are going to put it up in the corridor next to Mr Mackenzie’s office.
